However the fact remains that those diagnosed with/treated for cancer at the end of summer have generally a better prognosis than those diagnosed/treated for the same cancer at the end of winter when Vitamin D status is low.
Only those who enjoy the thrill of dangerous living fail to appreciate that the higher your vitamin D status the lower your risk of getting heart disease, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, MS etc etc.
No one is suggesting that Vitamin D status is the only determinant of cancer risk. However as vitamin D status impacts of every single stage in cancer development and progression it is perverse and unreasonable not to correct Vitamin D status as soon as if not before a cancer is diagnosed.
I predict in 10yrs time any doctor not correcting 25(OH)D deficiency status will be vulnerable to legal action for negligence. The evidence is increasing daily and the slow learners will be the most vulnerable to legal action.
