Default Early puberty

The age of puberty has been dropping in recent times. Half of all girls in the UK start menstruating by the age of 10 - and it's a similar story elsewhere. What's going on? Winifred Robinson investigates...

My guess is the hormones that are given to animals for human consumption. Hormones are fed to cattle for more and faster dairy production. They are given to chickens as well.

My bet is that kids are fed soy products. Soy has an ingredient that mimics estrogen.

And it may track back to soy forumla give as infants. Some studies found 20,000 times higher levels of hormones in infants who drink soy.

They also need to consider plastics... some plastics have estrogenic effects.

Kids today mature (sexually) much earlier than we did and it is because of all the issues in the above posts as well as all the growth chemicals in meats, dairy, plastics leaching etc. What is sad is some kids today look like corn fed farm animals. Also, look at some highschool freshman, they can bench 300 pounds. This is not good or normal.

And yet weight strength coaches are demanding even more from this teens.

When I stop to consider all the growth hormones our children in ingested throughout their young lives, I worry about what their later years will bring them.

For the first time in history parents will outlive their children.

Oh my gosh!!!!! So this explains why I had such a terrible time going through puberty at such a young age! Oh yeah and I've been hearing from people lately that their daughters are getting their period at eight!!!! I wouldn't doubt that you are correct. The only reason our bodies are so screwed up is because people want money. I'm telling you when I get my own house, I am going to grow all my vegetables and slaughter my own animals for meat! I'm tired of all this unnatural crap!
The more you try and regulate something...anything...the more effort it will take to keep it regulated...enough said.

I agree with you, Kelly T. Read the thread I just put on Ice Cream on the
Nutrition section. We all know how kids love Ice Cream - so do I!
But some of these companies advertise their ice cream as all natural, when it's NOT! And, there's nothing cheap about those brands either! They're all
costly! I lucked in to a special at Kroger this week on 2 of the small containers of Ben&Jerry's for 1.00 each.
Then I read the article about them being rBGH hormone free. But, I have
bought the other brands, not knowing.
Also sad is that these young girls beginning early menses will be more easily
subject to early breast and other cancers. It's a darned CRIME!
I keep passing all this info to my daughter for my youngest grandaughter's
benefit - age 2.
Girls used to be age 14 to 16 before menses began. No longer true of many today.

Another problem with early menses is that girls will want to have sex earlier and more teenage or even preteen pregnancies will result.
