My hair is falling out at an incredible rate. Don't know what to do. Have an appt with my doc on Dec. 17 but I think I will call her Monday.
I started progesterone cream about 4 cycles ago due to heavy bleeding. Last period was hardly anything. Could this hair loss be hormone related?
I decided not to use the cream anymore until I talked with her so have not used it since end of last period.

Reason: grammer
So sorry to learn that Arrow. Once you know the cause, if possible, maybe we can work hard on finding the right treatment. So many causes. Infection, vascular restriction to the scalp - take gingko. Infection - Apply a diluted essential oil to the scalp.
Stress - you work it out!!
Hormones - what needs to be corrected?
We can look forward to Monday and start looking then.
Do you have any ideas about it?
Hair loss can be caused from a hypothyroid. This is major symptom of a hypothyroid. Also, fungus can cause hair loss. Try rinsing your hair with organic apple cider vinegar. It contains malic acid which is an antifungal! Try mixing it with baking soda. Someone mentioned this on the HSI forum! I read in a health book that I have that lack of amino acids can cause hair loss! Good luck!
My thyroid is good so it is not there. I have a ton of energy. My nails and hair are otherwise strong. No split ends. I do have a small spot of psoriasis on my scalp but not all over my head!
When exactly did your hair start falling out? Have their been any other changes in your life(style) that may be contributing?
You mentioned that you've been bleeding (in the recent past) quite a bit. I wonder if this has led to an anemic state? This can certainly contribute and even cause hair loss.
Is it at all possible that there is some connection between this change and the use of the MMS?
Anything else you can think of?

Nope, not anemic. MMS? well I've thought about that but it doesn't add up. And if hair falling out was a side effect I think we would know it by now.
My co worker was on estrogen. She stopped about 6 months ago and she said that when she did she lost a ton of hair and also started to go gray also. I'm leaning towards hormones on this one.... I may go to a dermatologist also for a look see.
Arrowind, if its hormones, then your whole horme SYSTEM is out of whack.

Try the coconut oil on the psoriasis. It cleared up my sons girls after scratching her whole 18 years!

I am suspecting it was caused by a protein issue. Not eating enough protein. It did stop last year and repeated again just recently but not as bad..when I started focusing more on protein it went away...so that is what I am suspecting.
