If my doctor suggested a hysterectomy, I\'d get a second opinion first. I think that\'s one of those operations that they\'re too hot to do, and many times is unnecessary.

\nFollowup after the right script is determined is once a year for hormone level checks. My doc feels that women can take these hormones into their 90s or beyond if they want.

\nI take DHEA, Testosterone, progesterone and two different types of estrogens... for 4 years now and doing very well.. Read Suzanne Summers book on it.\r\n

\r\n \r\n Ok, we are all just in the wrong business.... spent an hour or so with my physicians assistant yesterday, she did a pelvic exam, drew blood and then referred me to a gynecologist. I was charged 145 dollars. Went to the gynecologist this morning, did a breast exam, a pap smear and an endometrial biopsy, told me she would set me up for a mammy (after I told her I didnt do mammys?!) And is setting me up for a ultra sound. Asked me if anyone ever told me that I had fibroids (does that mean I have them???) told me there is a possibility of cancer and thats why she was doing the biopsy...told me that the fat cells could be energizing my estrogen levels and causing all these problems, suggested it could be my neglect of taking my thyroid medicine, and then wrote me a script.....Does anyone want to make a guess on how much that final bill was???? Oh and she wants to see me back on the 26...I have just spent my house payment on doctors today....and still didnt get fixed and dont know whats wrong.....beginning to think I was better off leaving well enough alone.... Now I remember why I dont go to doctors... I spent a half hour in the waiting room, fifteen minutes in the exam room waiting and maybe 10 minutes with the doctor...and wrote a check for five hundred dollars!!!!! (Oh and still feeling cramps from the damn biopsy!!!!!\r\n

\r\n \r\n I mentioned that it could be fibroids or a cyst, and I don\'t think they can detect those without the ultrasound. If you don\'t do mammograms, I\'d refuse that for sure. I hate doctors too, and rarely go...but in your case with the heavy bleeding, I\'d want to find out what\'s causing it.\r\n

\r\n \r\n Ok, so it looks like I cant afford to do this ultrasound..shoot, the gyn, took my house payment! 640 dollars just for the ultrasound and then another 70 dollars to have someone read it. So correct me if I am wrong please...the only thing the ultrasound will do, is tell me if I have fibroids or cyst, right??? The gyno did a papsmear and a biopsy, so if there was a chance of cancer, that would show up in those test and not the ultrasound, right???? I cant justify, another housepayment to pay for an ultrasound, when I know I wont have a hysterectomy unless I have cancer.... So, I think my course of action is going to be to forego the ultrasound for now. Continue on my thyroid medicine (its not levrothyroxin, Im allergic to that) go back to doing my exercises and try to get back on my eating program... Finish reading the above article that jfh posted (thank you jfh), and start dosing with iodine.. and read up on the red clover. I cant afford doctors, so Im gonna just have to do the best I can without them.....Thanks for the help everyone...If the test results come back with issues, then we will have to re-adjust my game plan.... my daughter in law asked me if I was diagnosed with cancer, what I would do.....I think my game plan would be veggie juicing, the baking soda protocol, the hydrogen peroxide, the budwig protocol and see if I could figure out how to get IV vitamin C.... I would also consider mms...\r\n

I had never walked into a liquor store before, so my kids went and got it for me...they made a big big joke about their "christian" sundayschool teacher mother buying gallons of everclear....It still feels really awkward for me to go into the liquor store and get bottles of everclear and vodka....its rather funny!\r\n

I think that bottle of mms you have is over a year old.. maybe 2 or almost 3. Im using a 2 year old bottle and it works but I think my 3 - 4 year old bottle is shot... I tossed it.

\nThere is a book for the Heel products but I think you have to be a practitioner to purchase it... not sure. its $20. Its not near as detailed as I would like it to be and the remedies are used for more things than the book says.\r\n

BEWARE MEN, TALKING THE PERIOD ISSUE HERE.. FAIR WARNING FOR YA IN CASE YOU WANT TO STEP BACK OUT!!!!

So ok, I bragged too soon! after missing about three months worth of periods, it seems they have come back in force...For the past two, possible three weeks, (trying to put this nicely guys...might want to leave the room now!!!) I have had a full force period, to the point that every time I sit on the toilet, the water turns bright red... Changing pads at least two if not three times a day.. Some large clots, but not many. Very tired, totally exhausted... Cant walk on the tredmill, because it seems to bring more flow, any walking seems to bring more, but tredmill moreso. Normal periods were usually heavy for a day or two, but then would slack off... I would go for two or three days, stop for a day and then go for two or three more days.. and if I remember correctly, this one started out that way, I went for two days, stopped for a couple of days, started, and havent stopped since....Doesnt even look like we are slowing down... I dont think I am having any other signs of menopause, Im hot, but its in the 100s down here, so everyone is hot... Im on edge, but having five teen agers and a few other little kids in the house would make anyone on edge... Im not ready to kill them yet, just more like I want to run away type attitude.... So I finally called the doctor's office this morning, and of course they want to see me as soon as possible... i have an appointment monday morning..... So between now and then, what can I do to make this problem go away.... Is shepards purse appropriate for this??? I havent had a female exam in probably 15 years.... What can I do or take to protect myself from having to have a hysterectomy, or is it too late, am I doomed?
