Coyote Watching Me

This wary coyote watching me on my walk today. i could hear his friends howling further up the trail when emergency sirens sounded nearby.

They usually will try to avoid humans, but in areas near the city like where I live, there have been attacks on small children and family pets. They always seem to be looking for food, and especially dangerous when with pups. I don't turn my back on them, and if there's more than one together, I try to keep a safe distance...but they can run very fast, I think over 30mph if they desire.Posted 01-06-2012 at 09:00 AM by kind2creatures

In Cleveland (and greater area) there is the metroparks system. A very very large system of interconnected parks, wildlife refuges etc. Some official in the 90s had the bright idea of introducing coyotes to take care of the overpopulation of deer.
