As the blog title indicates, topics mentioned here will go beyond the health forum itself, and will be unlimited.
I hold no judgement of those who have already had their cats declawed, from those I've talked to, many regret the decision and were misinformed about the procedure and effect on the cat both physically and mentally. However, I am completely against this inhumane and abusive operation, and would like to share some facts and feelings from the pros. If one person changes their mind, then this post is worth it's weight in gold.
In many countries, declawing is deemed to be inhumane, abusive,...
Well, it's nearing the end of January, and I like to congratulate everyone who's sticking to their resolutions regarding health, it's not easy, but it's well worth it. Those resolutions would include things like losing weight, eating healthier, or quitting common addictions like smoking or drinking.
If you've slipped up already, and fell back into old habits, please don't despair and give up. It's never too late to pick up where you left off and...
It's a fact that we usually take our health for granted until we lose it. I'm writing this for mature adults, many of whom had started smoking cigarettes in their teens or twenties, and have continued to do so on a daily basis for their entire adult lives. I gave up smoking on my own around thirty years ago after smoking over a pack of Marlboros a day for around fifteen years. I can honestly say that it was the smartest move I've ever made, and have never regretted it.
Ideally, we would all give out healthy treats for the trick or treaters each year like fresh fruits, natural fruit 'leathers', natural licorice or small toys, tattoos, etc.
Realistically, kids like to get candy for Halloween. Since it's mainly women who buy, store and hand out all those 'fun sized' chocolate bars, they often fall into the sinkhole of overindulgence. Yes, I've been guilty of it too, although I have much more control than I did years ago.
Lots of women are stressed out to some degree physically, emotionally and mentally...and rightfully so! It's very important to give yourself some very needed "me time", no excuses, make it happen!
Little things that don't cost very much can give women the necessary time to regroup, exhale and relax. Life is too short to deny yourself of this tiny luxury which you so much deserve.
Take a walk alone in the outdoors if possible, a slow leisurely one. Go to the...
Natural Medicine Talk is the most informative health forum that I've come across on the web. Since I joined this forum, I've been amazed with all the information presented here. Knowledge on the forum is abundant, and it's the best place for researching all things health related.
One aspect that separates NatMedTalk from the rest of the forums or groups out there is that, if there is information given that you don't quite understand, the members are more than happy to explain things...
It's always smart to exercise caution when using any medications, whether prescription or natural. Many pharmaceuticals have a historical connection to herbal medicine, and are derived initially from herbal extracts.
Both prescription medicines and herbs affect the person taking them very individually. Some may experience allergic reactions, some may have side effects that exacerbate their already existing medical conditions. Some medicines should not be given to pregnant or breast-feeding...
There's many things in our lives that create stress, and It's how much power we give to those occurrences that can have a negative effect not only on ourselves, but on those close to us. Sadly, health is one of those things that is not usually appreciated until it is lost, and a positive and happy state of mind has an enormous influence on our physical and mental well-being.
It's a good practice to lighten-up and be open to accepting little things in our daily lives that can bring...

The first thing that initially impressed me about this forum, was that the information in the posts, especially by the established long-term members, was without a doubt, a step above anything I had read on any other health forums.
What I observed was that the posters giving advice and recommendations not only knew the subject matter that they were discussing, but whenever they felt it was beneficial, they would also include additional reference, study and opinion-related data to...
Fifty years old, a half-century of living, sounds intense to some people who view aging as a curse. I think it's much better to see it in a more positive light, we're blessed to have reached the age we are and should make the most of our precious years left here on this earth. Live for today, look forward to the future, and most importantly don't make the mistake that so many folks make by living in the past.
On their 40th birthdays, some people start the downward spiral of negativity....
