\nI was helping with a National Wildlife Refuge festival yesterday, Saturday. It rained twice. We had time to put up a canopy over our handouts and literature. Parents did not like it as the trails were wet and muddy. Children had the very best time. We had a snake display. That was the favorite. This guy brings in snakes and turtles and shows and tells about each one. A real crowd pleaser. We normally have a butterfly tent, but the butterflies did not hang around this year. Too dry. We also normally have a Monarch tagging event. Catch the monarch and put a tiny information dot on the wing. When other wildlife refuges find them in other countries, it helps to show their migration. The children delight in doing that. They catch the butterflies and the parents put on the dot. That did not happen. The monarchs must be having problems too.

\r\n \r\n Mud is a good sign I would assume, it means the ground is holding some water. I have heard of lakes being evaporated bone dry in TX.\r\n

\nDavid at GLN located in or near San Antonio has had some previous rainfalls - not much - but some.
\nTexas is a huge state so stands to reason that different areas get rain at different times.\r\n
