Arrow Chest congestion lasting weeks.. need help!

Hey guys..

so a few weeks ago I had some type of head cold/sinus infection.. symptoms were, malaise, headache, sensitivity to light, minor congestion..

that went away after a week, but for like 2 going on 3 weeks now ive had a cough.. its just like slight congestion in my lungs, but it doesnt seem to go away.. and ive been coughing quite a bit which I dont like for other reasons, as it tenses my pelvic floor, weakens abs etc..

Anyone got any good remedies? ive been taking this herbal wellness spray that has Osha, Honey, Myrhh, Mullein, Echinaccea.. i need to take some vitamin C.. I am just now, btu havent been.. I also didnt sleep well this weekend and noticed an increase in symptoms.

I was gonna buy a herbal expectorant at the market, but im paranoid about taking expectorants, decongestants etc.. as atleast the commercial ones like sudafed etc irritate the prostate.

Pleurisy Root in the liquid tincture will loosen and help bring up mucus from the lungs. It takes several days of use to see results, and you will need to cough it up to get rid of it a little at a time. I like the Nature's Answer brand. Wild Cherry Bark in liquid tincture will do the same for mucus in the throat area only.

Hi Moxsum, You might want to read up on pau d arco tea. It seems to be a very good respiratory remedy and does not taste bad.

For lung infections, I have always found the Nutramedix product Cumanda real effective. It is a natural antibiotic, and antifungal supplement.

Try garlic.

You might also consider olive leaf extract - a natural antibiotic, esp. good for chest infections.

PS: I don't mean to be rude, but you seem to have been through the mill with this and all your other health problems...
I think you need a total lifestyle change, concentrating on a major overhaul of your diet.
I would suggest a weekend fruit detox to clear your system and then start a new dietary regime centred on fresh fruit and vegetables. Regular exercise too. It will add years to your life - and give you a better quality of life too.

Try gargling with warm salt water or warm spinach juice. Also, bring a mixture of ginger, black pepper and long pepper to boil and drink the water. Also, grapes acts as natural expectorant, toning your lungs. You might want to try it out since it will not have any side effects. Hope you get well soon.

At one time I had a cough that didn't go away for months. I found out it was allergy based ashma at the end and did a few things to get rid of it. If it was up to the doctors I saw I would be taking claratin or something similar everyday the rest of my life. I now just take a lot of vitamins and herbs and a better diet and really don't have much of an issue anymore.

I take over 2,000mg of vitamin C a day now and a few other things.

Thumbs up Golden Seal is my Choice

Golden Seal root works great, to dry up chest. I take it straight(about 1/2 tsp.) and wash it down with water. It is very dry powder, and it is hard to swallow, but the water gets it down.
