Default Sugar

ok up untill a year ago i used to practically live off sugar, i still love sweets and anything i drink has to be sweet...

Now for the last year ive cut down on everything sugar-related in a way id never thought possible for me...

Now i use honey but honey can be inconvenient and sticky, plus its much more expensive than sugar and it lasts shorter...

So i still keep a jar of sugar which lasts me for a long long time bcuz of my low consumption, i basically use it for my morning coffee and occasionally for tea (when i run out of honey)...

I would like to know which sugar is the least damaging for the body, so that i can buy that and use that instead of the simple cheap destructive white sugar i have now...

thank you...

Many diabetics prefer xylitol. I prefer stevia.

I've seen post where people complain about xylitol upsetting their stomach. possibly because of the additives used to process it?

I use bother xylitol and stevia. when baking I combine them. xylitol is a little spendy.
I use stevia on yogurt. Stevia can have an after taste, thats why I combine them. On fresh strawberries I use xylitol like sugar,, it has never bothered my stomach

@ op: the least refined sugar you can find. brown sugar, turbinado, raw sugar. really, it's all sugar though... the best thing you can do is buy a length of sugar cane and boil it in some water, then reducing to appropriate consistancy. it can even be crystallized this way. this will make a consistancy that is similar to maple syrup, but it is sugar. this method is going to the most beneficial in terms of nutrients.

I use only Stevia - the Dal brand. Try a good health food store if you have one. No after taste of any kind.
I found one called Trivia at Kroger one time.
I do use a bit of brown sugar on sweet potatoes though.

And anyway as i said i use very little sugar nowadays, so just switching from white sugar to something healthier is good enough for me for now

And of course honey (raw if findable) will stay my number 1 choice as far as sweeteners for bewerages go, i just cant mix honey with coffee, my brain rejects the thought hahaha

Truestorytotell, since you may be concerned about Candida and other problems you have, you should avoid sugar, including honey. That's why I mentioned those substitutes. Otherwise molasses and maple syrup are really the best for their mineral content. Honey is best for its healthy enzymes. However, in your case for the present, avoid sugar. Do yourself the favor.

Yes its true but for 21 years up to 1 year ago i used to eat SO MUCH more sugar, chocolates, 3-4 spoons in every cup of coffee, i mean i used to live off it and i really mean that, im not exagerating really...

And now i just consume the bare minimal, but tell me please isnt sugar the food that our cells need? like fuel for a car...

Thats what im unclear about, the cells in our bodies need sugar, i mean fructose glucose insulin whatever just sweet...so if i deprive them of that completely, isnt that gonna have a bad effect on my whole body?

my reasoning is just to balance it, use whatever sweet in moderation, and so feed my cells with the food they need, but give it to them in healthy amounts and just healthy (like honey instead of white sugar, for example)

please straighten me out bcuz as you can see im a bit confused about this...

Ok here it is, as far as im concerned the sugar(fructose and glucose) found in honey and fruits is the healthy kind of sugar...

But even that can cause insulin spikes if taken in large amounts, so its not that sugar feeds lets say cancer or candida directly, its just the insulin spikes which cause the problem, so by me consuming only healthy sugar, and in moderation, i think its the right thing to do because it will keep the insulin in my body on normal levels...

I dont want anyone to waste time writting and explaining me things i can find out for myself, so just tell me is this article truthful? if yes i got my answers...

https://csn.cancer.org/node/235609

p.s i dont have cancer, i have what i consider the beggining of cancer,mini-cancer, cancer's children (HPV, Herpes) so dealing with that is what started me on this whole healthy lifestyle road, but for now i just want to live as healthy as possible, and im talking radically...i dont use plastic anymore at all now thats an example of radicalism, when i say to people i dont use plastic they just stare at me with their mouth open hahaha

Fructose is not good sugar. There are posts on NMT supporting this.

You do not need to eat sugar to get glucose. Your body will get it from the foods you already eat, like protein and various fats. Probiotics will even make glucose from fiber. Glucose is the food for the cells. Honey has a lot of glucose, but other sugars too. You do not need to eat sugar of any type.

If you use xylitol, be careful if you have pets. It is poisonous to dogs
