Default Help with homemade everything...

As the title says, i wanna make my own everything, dishwashing liquid, shampoo, shower gel, washing machine dust, All of it...

Ive been using stuff i had when i moved in alone, and stuff my ex bought but its all running out slowly slowly and i dont want to go buy any commercial stuff, its not the money, its the health im concerned with...
Basically NO chemicals which are damaging to my health can come into contact with me, skin being the largest organ that soaks up all that stuff we put on it, must be given its peace, to do its functions properly...

So imma start with the first thing, the thing i almost ran out of, a shower body wash...
I have googled it and read about it here and there, but i just cant seem to run into what im looking for, so imma ask here im sure someone can help...

I basically want strictly healthy, i dont care about it smelling good and nice, it would be enough for it to smell ''clean'', thats kind of a must at least..but i want to make something to keep the skin healthy, glowing , i want something that will also kill the bacteria on me you know..Just Healthy you know what i mean by that...

But dont give me the buy soap, buy some oils and boil them and mix them whatever, it has to be good the ingredients have to be one for killing bacteria effectively, one for moisturizing the skin, one foooor when absorbed by my skin will do whatever woodo to the under layers of the skin to keep them healthy, just healthy healthy healthy!!!!! oh and dont even bother adding something TO MAKE IT SMELL NICE, UNLESS the perfect combination for a homemade body wash liquid smells bad and something for the smell is really needed...

After i will continue with hair shampoo, and all the other stuff but firstly i wanna do body wash...

So what to buy, how to do it?

Can you find a place to purchase a bar of soap like this?
https://www.iherb.com/South-of-France...-oz-227-g/5791

South of france is a very nice soap and they have other sents too besides green tea. I use the mango quite a bit too.

I can teach you how to turn this bar of soap into over one gallon of face and body liquid soap. You will have to find some kind of soap pump bottle.

I can surely purchase a bar of soap, but im not sure i can get the specific one you mentioned...unless i order it online and i dont wanna do that

But i can get other types of soaps from health stores you know ones without parfumes and stuff added to them...

I have 2 soap pump bottles from a hand liquid soap i had, i kept them i was sure they would be needed for this project exactly...

Of course they are plastic, and i dont use plastic anymore, but its cool its not like im allergic to plastic or nothing, its just a healthy choice i make to keep it away from me...after i make this and use it a while i might just go and buy glass soap pump, just to restore my radicalness, no plastic means no plastic

So should i go to a health store, buy a nice clean natural soap, and report so that you can tell me what to do next? btw what else would i have to buy for the whole project of making a body and face liquid soap? (i dont think a small soap will make a gallon of liquid by magic :P) what else should i buy?

You might look at the hardware store for soaps as well. I don't mean the big box ones, but the small ones. Ace Hardware and the like often carry old timey sorts of soap, many of which are pretty basic and plain and have nothing strange added to them.

You could try something like Dr. Bronner's Baby Shampoo soap -- that is decent stuff and has no added scents. Or there are scented varieties.

Most of the shampoos (indeed nearly ALL shampoos) in health food stores don't strike me as chemically very healthy. Read those labels carefully.

I use Tate's shampoo, which truly does not have added crap to it, and it's very good, but not very available.

You might have good luck at a local farmer's market, as sometimes local soap crafters sell there, and they tend to know what they put in their soaps. You can find the nearest markets at www.localharvest.org.

I've done a little experimenting with soap-making in the past half year, but nothing complicated yet. I'm debating whether I really want to invest in a proper scale or not and whether it's worth my time to go into things that far when I've found so many good soap makers around me.

Shampoo is always an issue because I'm playing allergy whack-a-mole even with natural ingredients, but I think I can get past that in time and not have to bother tracking down a good source of potassium hydroxide. Oh, I can find shampoos I can use to wash my hair, but they don't seem to rinse out very well at all except for Tate's.

Go to a store and find a natural bar soap that you like preferably made with coconut or palm oil. There may be other types of oils included also. See if you can find the brand I mentioned cause thats what i use.. Dr Bronner's bar soap will work too but it doesnt make as much. An 8oz bar is ideal. When you get that then we will proceed from there.

Well, glycerine is perfectly safe. It does not need to be avoided.

Here is what I do... and Im not sure it will work with a purely olive oil soap.

Get a large pot... and Im assuming you purchased an 8 oz bar. It is based on this size so adjust your water amount accordingly.

Totally grate your bar of soap. I use a basic hand grater, like what people grate cheese with. Like one of these: https://fantes.com/graters.htm

Heat a pot of water to a boil. It should have one gallon plus 25 ounces of water.
Turn the pot off after it boils and add your grated soap.
Stir until dissolved. Do not boil it.

Let it sit in pot overnight.
It should gel into a solid or near solid mass over night. Some water may separate out but thats ok.

Take a potato masher or a stick blender and turn it into a thick soup. Blend on slow so you dont make a lot of bubbles. If you make a lot of bubbles let it sit again and it will gel some but not as much. This time just mash it up with a spoon or potato masher.

If it does not come out thick and creamy like a pump soap heat it up again, but do not boil.

add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, stir well and let it sit over night.
The next day mash or blend again.
It should be good to go.
Use a funnel to put it into your soap pump bottle.
Store the rest in a gallon jug until needed. Keep out of direct sunlight. A very hot room will cause it to separate and get yucky but it ususally can be shaken to mix again.

How well this turns out will depend on the type of bar soap you selected.
If it doesnt turn out well then look for a soap maded with coconut oil along with the olive oil.

As far as glycerin is concerned i dont really think its ''perfectly healthy'', i mean it would be better without but in this case its natural glycerin, and i could be wrong but like you get natural fluoride and the man made one you find in toothpastes etc, thats what kindoff put my worries to rest when deciding for the soap, ''natural glycerin'' must be better then just ''glycerin''...

Actually its a 100gram soap each, the ones i got, so that would make 3,5oz each :/

So for each soap i should use half a gallon of water in my case..right?

And about the water would de-ionised water be better to use, like healthier?

While sitting overnight should the pot be covered or not? because of light and air and oxygen or something, bugs hehe..???

So can i add anything else to make it even healthier, with more health benefits? like honey or cinnamon or baking soda,or green tea leaves, or anything at all?? if yes then what and at which point during the process?

I got a second job for now so i wont be making anything because i just work and sleep.

anyway i bought a shampoo and a body wash from a health shop so for now that will do...

I have a question about anti-perspirants, the stuff you put under your armpits and the cream or spray you put on your feet after taking a shower. I want to change those too and use baking soda and/or fresh squeezed lemon, i would like to know whats best to use the baking soda the way it is as a powder, or to mix the baking soda with water and/or lemon juice to create a paste, or just lemon without baking soda???

I basically dont really have any problems with bad smells so its not an issue even to not use anything, but still its pretty hot around here this time of the year and so i want to use and know what i can use for armpits and feet, once a day or every two days after my shower is the frequency...

Also id like to know if i could use honey or olive oil during my shower also once daily or every two days to wash my face, i use to just take the foam from my shampoo and kinda wash my face with it then rinse the whole head, but i stopped that especially with the chemical shampoo i used to have...

Lately ive been using a cream my ex-girlfriend had left but the instructions say it should be used morning and evening, i was just using while showering, but that cream too is filled with all kinds of chemicals i cant even pronounce, so id like to switch to something healthier, any advice?
