Default Homemade crackers

I make these in my dehydrator. They're gluten-free and high in protein and omega 3's.

To fill a 9 tray dehydrator:

2 lbs. quinoa (rinse and cook)
1 lb. sunflower seeds (rinse & soak 4 hours)
1/2 c. flax seeds
1/2 c. nutritional yeast
salt
pepper

Blend quinoa, sunflower seeds, salt, pepper and nutritional yeast with 2 cups water in blender. Add flax seeds. If you want to blend them you can but we like the crunch.

Place in thin layer on trays on the paraflex drying sheet (they won't work without this flexible sheet) in dehydrator overnight. If not dry after 12 hours turn them over so the other side can dry.

The sunflower seeds hold it all together. The flax seeds help balance the high omega 6s in the sunflower seeds. This recipe is forgiving. I add to it and change it up all the time. One recipe had a cup of chai tea pulp that I had saved over the weeks. It was so tasty. You can add herbs, tomato sauce, and veggies to your liking or nutrient needs. Add some maca or milk thistle seeds to add nutrients.

Thanks Mommysunshine. This looks like a great recipe. I will have to get a food dryer for this though. Its been on my list. I like the idea of adding tea sludge to it
