i have been prescribed cipro
i don't want to take it because there is no proof of infection
but the doc says to take it for 4 weeks and then come back in 6 weeks.
i got high blood pressure from doxycycline and i don't wan't that to happen again and cipro is toxic to testicals and i don't want testicle damage from it.

Erythromycin works just as goo in most cases. Also, try a hot bath (as hot as you can stand). The infection might go away on its own.
i wish it would go away by its self
its been 8 months i even took olive leaf extract for 4 months when i couldn't get anywhere with the doc.
that antibiotic you say about sounds good i just read about it and it has a border spectrum than Penicillin
I'm not at all familiar with your type of infection, if there is any. Have you tried colloidal silver? That works for any of my infections, even sinus, where none other have. I've tried oil of oregano, olive leaf extract, and grapefruit seed extract.

it possibly a chronic infection
the trouble it that doctors won't order the right tests
semen culture and or prostate fluid culture.
i have a container for a urine culture but it won't have anything in it unless i get some prostate fluid in it some how.
Hey Man.. ive also had prostatitis like problems for the past year..
The doc put me on cipro for a month too.. did not do anything.
I would reccomend not taking it, use natural things. Most of the time antibiotics have no lasting effect.. any short term effect is due to the anti-inflammatory effects of antibiotics.
Cipro can cause serious, long lasting side effects. IMO its not worth it.
once ya go past the penicillin type antibiotics ya are really taking a poison (but they cant get in to the prostate).
I have tried a few herbal antibacterials garlic, olive leaf extract, goldenseal.
The olive leaf helped a bit.
I would take the cipro if I knew i had a susceptible bacterial infection.
But for all i know i could have some sort of fungal infection (not that likely but possible)
Coconut oil is a very good antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral. Be sure to get the least processed oil as you can. Normally it will say cold pressed or virgin.
"When people take antibiotics, the good bacteria are often killed along with the disease-causing ones. This leaves yeast, such as Candida which is not affected by antibiotics, to grow unrestrained, proliferating and overrunning the intestinal tract. The consequence is a yeast overgrowth or infection. Such infections can last for years causing a wide variety of symptoms ranging from headaches to digestive problems. Often people have systemic candida infections without even knowing it. This is why antifungal medications or probiotics should be taken whenever antibiotics are used. A probiotic supports the growth of friendly bacteria but not the disease-causing kind.
One of the good things about lauric acid in virgin coconut oil is that it kills lipid-coated bacteria but does not appear to harm the friendly intestinal bacteria. The MCFA (medium chain fatty acids) in coconut oil also have antifungal properties so not only will they kill disease-causing bacteria and leave good bacteria alone, they will also kill candida and other fungi in the intestinal tract, further supporting a healthy intestinal environment."

Reduces risk of atherosclerosis and related illnesses.
Reduces risk of cancer and other degenerative conditions.
Helps prevent bacterial, viral, and fungal (including yeast) infections.
Bactrim is the drug to take for prostatis. Bactrim is sulfur, it doesn't actually kill bacteria as it isn't an antibiotic, it creates an unpleasant place so the germs stop multiplying, so your prostatis goes away. You can ask your doctor for it, it's made by Roche. It's real cheap. Every other country has it over the counter, only in the USA do you need a prescription. It's $2. in Mexico. Take 2 a day for a month, on in AM, one in PM (or maybe it was 2 weeks??? can't be sure, but it won't hurt you)

MSM is sulfur too....
i have to have a prescription for bactrim here in Australia too.
but i have had 3 short 10day courses of bactrim DS and 1 month of trimethoprim. so there is probably some resistance.
If it didn't make me stink i would go back to my 10 raw cloves of garlic a day.
But every place i went reeked of garlic even after i left
So, that amount of Bactrim should have worked, my guess is you don't have prostatis. What are your symptoms?
the doctor said i have chronic prostatitis the acute infection has passed.
symptoms were worse early in the year and there was gaps in the antibiotic treatment the first couple of times the ABs helped but only towards the end of the 10 days.
the main symptoms i have been left with is pain in the perineum after masturbation, riding a motorbike and bowl movement.
Also tingling in the perineum, mild pain ether side of the pubic bone and pressure feeling in the perineum.
restricted urine occasionaly like after a bowl movement
I also get tail bone pain.
Infection is not ruled out or proven as no semen or prostate fluid has been cultured.
It could be a nerve problem or damage from when i was a cyclist.

I just don't know how you can say these things! Bactrim most certainly is an antibiotic and it can hurt you. One of the most serious effects possible is developing bacteria resistance and possible superbugs but there are also a whole slew of poisonous effects that are detailed on the following site.
Sulfamethoxazole inhibits bacterial synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by competing with paraaminobenzoic acid (PABA). Trimethoprim blocks the production of tetrahydrofolic acid from dihydrofolic acid by binding to and reversibly inhibiting the required enzyme, dihydrofolate reductase. Thus, sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim blocks two consecutive steps in the biosynthesis of nucleic acids and proteins essential to many bacteria.
In vitro studies have shown that bacterial resistance develops more slowly with both sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim in combination than with either sulfamethoxazole or trimethoprim alone.
Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim have been shown to be active against most strains of the following microorganisms, both in vitro and in clinical infections as described in the INDICATIONS AND USAGE section.

Bactrim is a problem to a very few people who are allergic to sulfur, these people would know they are allergic right away, it won't hurt them, just quit taking it.
Yes, I supose to you anti drug nuts Bactrim is a drug, but what it does is create a unhappy environment. I love Bactrim, when I travel abroad (or right here at home) and I get the feeling of a critter in my gut which I know will become guardia or food poisoning I take one Bactrim and I'm perfect within a minute, I supose I could wrestle with the critters for weeks starving them and myself (which is the other cure for critters), but this is far better for those of us who aren't overzealous against drugs. As you can't starve out prostatis, you must take a drug or risk a very bad life as it grows, Bactrim is the best option.
What boots needs is pilates, not a class, but a private lesson, really, it's miraculous.

But alternative antibiotics, especially colloidal silver, do not cause the side effects of Bactrim. Colloidal silver works just as fast and does not create super bugs.
