Passion Flower has been used for many years for anxiety and panic attacks. It will restrain your emotions from extremes. Sometimes it is put in ingredients of sleep pills, but it does not make you sleepy. I haven't tried it yet, but it is on my list. I have to clear some space in my supplement kitchen cabinet, which is forever full. Anyway, you can typically find it in tea or capsule. Try that sometime.

St. John's Wort is an antidepressant. It inhibits the reuptake of the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.

Ginkgo Biloba elevates mood, but thins the blood a bit, so beware of that.

Kava kava is probably the most popular for anxiety, but it never worked well for me.

A magnesium malate or magnesium citrate may help with the aches. A good quality fish oil can be a simple thing to take for depression. Skullcap herb can be useful for anxiety. Research all side effects or drug interactions before using any herbs.

How much fish oil do you think would be recommended for alleviating depressin, k2c?

My brother seems to be sliding a bit to the "blue" side...

I've heard over 500mg of DHA is ideal. I use "Now" brand liquid lemon flavored fish oil. It has 475mg per teaspoon, and I usually take a tablespoon per day. Not necessarily depressed, but life has its ups and downs for all of us, and Omega 3s have so many other benefits, well worth taking, IMO. https://www.natmedtalk.com/wiki/Omega_3

This sounds to me like a vitamin B deficiency.

This would include all of the B vitamins including thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), adenine (B4), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), inositol (B8), folic acid (B9), para-aminobenzoic acid (B10), pteryl-hepta-glutamic acid (B11) cobalamin (B12), and orotic acid (B13).

Research doctor Hoffer on youtube concerning niacin.

There are 90 essential nutrients (including minerals) for good health. We need them all.
