I would suggest taking a good quality multivitamin, made mostly from whole foods, as well as a good mineral complex containing all 60 minerals.
I would also suggest taking a vitamin B complex every day. These are eliminated from the body on a daily basis, so should be supplemented on a daily basis as well.
Vitamin C should be taken in divided doses throughout the day rather than once per day. I would suggest 500 mg every 4 to 5 hours, along with quercetin @250mg and a larger dose just bebore bed.
Vitamin D @ 2000iu to 5000iu per day in addition to whatever is in the multi.
And at least 800iu of natural vitamin E daily. This should be in a mixed form of tocopherols, including delta, beta, and gamma.
I would also suggest taking the "other" natural mixed form of vitamin E called tocotrienols daily, but apart from the mixed tocopherols.
I agree with alot of what Jim says, however, do not agree that calcium and magnesium should be taken apart as they may conflict with each other. In fact, magnesium regulates calcium, and if you look at the recent thread on brazil nuts, you will see that these nuts contain 500mg of mag and 240mg calcium.
If it were true that mag and cal cancel each other out, there would be no logic as to why both are together in nature, either in a nut or "green" product.
As for iodine, Lugol's is best. Depending upon the strength, you can add several drops ( 25mg per day ) to a glass of water. The RDA for iodine is only 150mcg, but this is much too low to really do any good. And since iodine is an oxidizer, don't take it with antioxidants like vitamin C... in fact, I would suggest taking the iodine all by itself at least 2 hours before or after other supplements.
Ginkgo, extra zinc, and olive leaf extract are fine, however, for energy I would suggest a good quality "greens" product... a powder product made from kale, broccoli, alfalfa, spirulina, chlorella, etc., with some berry extracts, green tea extract, as well as other antioxidants, that have a high ORAC value.
All the above nutrients and more can be found in one good greens product. That way you only have to buy one product rather than several individual supplements.
