Yes, Dr Simoncini states that topical lugols will get rid of psoriasis. You are lucky that it worked with two topical dosages a day. He recommends coating the psoriasis many times a day, even up to 10 times or more. When the skin dries out from the iodine you peel it off and apply another coat. I tried this and found it quite painful and ended up stopping on my elbows and knees even though I could see some improvement. I had a break out on my hand, a rather large on and applied the lugols immediately. This cured easily with applications only about 3 or 4 times a day and I think perhaps because it was a new spot and perhaps not deeply rooted. One small spot was very tough over a knuckle so I switched to topical MMS1 and it cleared.

For the psoriasis on my knees and and elbows I resolved it with several courses of very high dosage vitamin D3. Its been clear now for quite a long time. My daily dosage is 5mg D3

I just got my Lugol's solution (I had been using potassium iodide) in the mail Thursday, and I took a small dose Friday morning to see if I would have a negative reaction. I felt good, so I upped the dosage this morning. I still feel good, but a cyst that was in the palm of hand (a water based cyst) has gotten enormous. It is so huge that I can't close my hand. It also feels warm.

I've fiddled with this cyst for about three years and it never went away. I would press and rub it and it would get smaller, but never go away. This reaction was immediate (within an hour of taking the higher dosage), so I'm hoping that this means that the cyst is going to gone soon.

I noticed a change when I started the Lugol's solution instead of just the plain potassium iodide. I started Friday and I have energy to spare. The cyst on the palm of my hand is almost gone, my appetite is less, I have almost no interest in sugar or snacks, and this old lady feels like she could go out and climb a mountain.

I haven't had this kind of energy in about thirty years; I feel great. I woke up this morning at 5:30 full of energy and ready for a nice long walk. I didn't crawl out of bed and want to crawl right back.

The energy difference is dramatic. I slept without constantly waking up during the night.

I thought that my elderly cat with allergies might need some help, so I put a couple of drops of potassium iodide in her water bowl (I would have put a drop of lugol's but I thought she might notice the taste) and her runny nose seems to be drying up.

I just thought that I would give another update. I am taking 10-12 drops of the lower concentration (2.2%) Lugol's solution and my asthma has almost disappeared. I have been having very unattractive hacking and spitting of phlegm, but I no longer wake up at night and the sleep apnea has stopped.

I found a rather interesting article by Dr. David Derry

"It has been noted repeatedly that asthma incidence is increasing in all age groups. I feel this is the result of a lower intake of iodine occurring in many families from decrease consumption of table salt. (3-6) The lower intake of iodine tends to make thyroid glands work poorly and cause hypothyroidism and thus increase the chances of asthma in those who are susceptible.

We know that by tracing radioactive thyroid hormone injected into animals shows the hormone concentrates in the aveoli of the lungs. These are the lower air sacs that we have to exchange oxygen with. Also for a good 100 years iodine preparations have been used on chronic chest problems and asthmatics. Iodine is excreted in the lung mucus. In fact iodine in excreted in all mucous secretions such as the mouth(saliva) stomach, bowels, cervix, and lungs. The iodine in the mucous likely helps to kill any bacteria or viruses. Thus both iodine and thyroid hormone are involved in lung physiology. For example most, if not all, sleep apnea patients are fixed with adequate doses of thyroid. Chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) also is helped by thyroid hormone treatment.

The amount of iodine in the lung mucus possibly explains the paradox that the Japanese who are amongst the heaviest smokers in the world also have one the lowest lung cancer rates. It is likely the high levels of iodine in their blood is excreted in the lung mucus. This iodine then by apoptosis (natural cell death)could be killing off any abnormal cells as they develop that are caused by the cigarette carcinogens. In addition iodine reacts directly with carcinogens and chemical to render them inactive. (7) The Japanese have had an average dietary iodine intake of about 10 mg for many centuries. If the level of iodine intake is above 2-3 mg daily then the thyroid gland becomes saturated within two weeks and does not take iodine up anymore. Thus the most of the iodine can then go to the other parts of the body to carry out iodine's mulitple important functions. The most important of these is relataed to killing off of pre-cancerous abnormal cells. Our intake of iodine as laid down by the WHO is around 15-200 micrograms. This is about one tenth the needed dose to saturate the thyroid gland. So most iodine or a large part of the dietary iodine in Westerners goes to the thyroid gland. This leaves less than optimal amounts going to the rest of the body."

Good find LoreD. My husband is a smoker and I have been giving him iodine for several years... now I have a good reason! I didn't know this about iodine concentrating in the lungs.

You can nebulize it also, I have only done the nascent at like 2 drops in the small cup, but it will help break up stuff and help you breathe easier.

Hi thanks for your reply. I'm using it to help energy levels during the day (promote sleep at night) and I wish to purchase from iherb.com

I'm going to be using 5HTP 100mg (melatonin 3mg as variation some days) & L-theanine at night before sleep with B12 liposomal spray in the mornings first thing when I wake up.

most of the people on this forum take iodine in larger dosages that a mcg tablet will provide. At Iherb this is the most similar product. https://www.iherb.com/EuroPharma-Terr...les/23508?at=0 but I have never used it.

Traditional Japanese diet provides about 12.5mg of iodine a day.

I do not use tablets, I use liquid iodine and I purchase it here as I fully trust this company:

Many thanks for the reply Arrowwind. I was thinking about starting off with a smaller dosage, something like this one:

https://www.iherb.com/TPCS-Iosol-Form...0-ml/4785?at=1

And then maybe try something stronger? There seems to be shockingly good reviews on that.

Well, you can do that if you want to but the literature and the iodine specialist doctors do not support such small dosages... and it is much more costly that way also, if cost should be an issue.

Hi everyone.

Today is my first day on Iodine. Please can I ask what other supplemental vitamins and trace elements go hand in hand synergistically with Iodine? I know to stay off the Vitamin C when its time to take Iodine. What are the best times to ingest it?

Thanks everyone

The companion supplements to iodine are selenium, vitamin C, and magnesium. Just separate the iodine dosage from them by about an hour.
