Thank you!! My yorkie sure could use some help. In 07, our three resident furries were exposed to a poison I can only suspect from a neighbor trying to kill squirrels. The half empty container of peanut butter was in MY front yard under my magnolia. My neighbor HATES my magnolia - the ONLY time he ever blows debris away is when the white floral petals fall on his driveway - it is ALSO a way for the squirrels to access the other tree on my yard: my Japanese maple. Why MY squirrels bothered him I don't know - INSANE? (I also found faux walnut shells in my backyard - empty . I really feel my three were poisoned. My other neighbor claimed he was live trapping them and setting them free in a park. No. He was NOT. I saw him setting one on fire that was dead. I want to move)

Anyway all three were in the doggie ER with lines for fluids. The red matter was coming out fast of both ends. The yorkie had the worst part of it and still today his liver/pancreas is enlarged. Along with a dx of collapsing trachea, this poor little guy has his share of health probs.

Thanks for the site - it will be visited by me to help get Yorkie healthy!

That's a terrible story happy2! Thank goodness they survived the poisoning. There's a lot of squirrels in my neighborhood too, although I don't feed them I often find empty peanut shells in my back yard.

The humane thing for your neighbor to do is trap and release for sure. Enough poison to kill a squirrel will definitely almost kill a small dog(s). Setting a dead one on fire is just sick.

Hope your Yorkie can get healthy again.

Thank you kind2. He is doing pretty well. Lots of fish oil, raw beef or chicken, some chinese herbs. Oh, you name it and he's probably taking it.

No one feeds the squirrels that I can tell. Some bird feeders are out and they tend to go after our bird seeds as well. They have not caused any damage as far as I know and there is not a high number of them.

He hates the squirrels, his wife hates birds. (Why they moved into an area a block away from a large creek, is beyond me).
