How To Make Waterproof Sunscreen?
I've got almost all the ingredients to make sunscreen. From what I gather, you just put the oil and water/ingredients in the blender to make it emulsify, like mayonoise (make it feel smooth like store bought lotion).
Anyway, I have almost all the ingredients: unrefined coconut oil, lily of the desert aloe vera gel, I have some cocao butter and I can buy some distilled water. I just need to make it waterproof. Oh, and I can get some zinc oxide powder.
All the recipes online seem to say beeswax, but that is expensive and a pain in the butt. You have to melt it first and mix it in.
Is there not something else you can use to make it waterproof? Mineral oil, castor oil? something? I don't know much about making homemade stuff, but surely there is some cheap something somewhere that can do the trick.
Store bought Natural sunscreen is super expensive.
thanks
