Gosh. Some of those testimonies seem "too good to be true."

I just got mine yesterday. It really is a very fine powder. A dust. Does not mix well with water; but stir and drink and stir and drink. It seems best to mix it in a cup, drink, then follow with more water. I don't know how it can "scratch" anything, since it is so fine. How is it going to kill a tapeworm or any other parasite?

Another forwarded message of interest from an alternative group:

I use DE (Diatomaeous Earth) for my dog as it is a wonderful flea and tick
controller. I also use it in her water as a preventative/treatment for worms.
I use it myself every now and then to hopefully kill parasites in my own body.
I have not had any bad effects from using it and it is great for keeping my dog
free from parasites.
I also no longer have a problem with swarms of Japanese ladybugs invading my
home every year. I sprinkle it around all my windows and they don't come in!

Default D-Earth

Jim - How are you doing on your D-Earth? Any feedback that you would
like to share with us?
I've had to be off for awhile as my computer got a MalWare virus and had
to be scrubbed down. I just got it back today.
I'm still interested!

Nothing yet earlybird. However, my toilet looks much different than usual. A lot of mucous. Also odd colors; like a mixture of very dark with very yellow. I assume the yellow is bile; so I am happy about that. It means that my liver is trying real hard. The very dark could be old stuff. I certainly hope its not blood.

Pretty good that I am not having as much constipation.

...but I can't blame everything on 4 days of DE.

I used diatomaceous earth at the advise of a naturopath when I had candida. He said candida will build up in layers on the intestinal wall especially when you've had it a while so the things that kill candida may not be able to penetrate those layers so you have to scrape off some of the top layers first. I used it along with sulfur and a product that was mostly clay to absorb the toxins and help pull them out, before taking the candida killers people use such as silver, oregano, horopito, etc on a rotational basis.

This thread piqued my interest as I just recently read an article about DE for non-toxic flea control:

Quote:
Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a powder comprised of microskeletons of deceased diatoms, which are a type of algae (both fresh water and sea water varieties occur). You sprinkle the powder on your pets and your carpets, and the fleas die from dehydration.
From: https://www.care2.com/greenliving/all...a-control.html

I'm looking forward to learning more!

Cheers,
BB

I really like that site BB. I check it out daily.

You can also sprinkle it on your window sill to keep ants out. It gets stuck to their tiny feet. They don't like it. Some put it in their pet's food to get rid of worms.

It is like a fine dust, a real fine flour. The slightest breeze will send it flying.

Me? I don't know per se because it was part of a protocol, all I know is that the protocol worked, I'm cured of candida for 8 years now.

Smile D Earth

Well, I ordered my D-Earth from earthworkshealth.com yesterday, so it should arrive
by the end of the week - one 2.5lb Jug of it for $11.50 plus Shipping of $10.00.
I liked what I read in the testamonials so I'm going to give it a try.
John, the man I ordered from said to start with 1 teaspoon the first day, then 2 tsps
the 2nd, working up to a full tablespoon on the 3rd day and thereafter.
I asked him if the testamonials I'd read on their site were legit and he said, "yes, they were."
Please keep us advised, Jim, of Your progress.

Well I'm not beautiful yet.

My nails are growing faster for sure. Could be the Summer or could be the silica. My toenails sure are harder/stronger to clip. I don't like long nails. My hair grows faster in the Summer too. Just wish there was more of it.

My sinuses aren't getting support from the DE. My bowels don't seem to be either. My hemorrhoids aren't improving either. I was thinking that the DE would at least act as insoluble fiber. However, fiber never really helped either. Things seem to work for 3 days, then my immune system "fixes" it. Even prune juice will work for 3 days; then nothing.

I'm beginning to think that my hypothalamus is not working properly. It is not communicating with the other glands; or something like that. I'm researching that. If anyone has any hints, let me know. All I can say is that whatever I do for my adrenals or thyroid, doesn't seem to work for long.

Anyway, I am trudging on with DE. I take about 2 tbsp per day. I also keep some in a pitcher with water in the refrigerator and drink that during the day instead of just water. I've been told that a spoonful will last for weeks in the pitcher as water is added; but can be replaced at any time. It is inorganic; so it won't spoil. The silica is not easily assimilated by the body; so keeping it in water for a while is better.

My strained shoulder does feel better after more than 6 months of pain. I still can't reach the middle of my back as I can with my other hand though. So flexibility has not returned.

Hi,

I finally did a bit of looking around for more information on silica, which from the other posts in this thread, seems to be one of the key ingredients in DE. I searched for "silica and health" and found the following:

Quote:
Silica is a trace mineral, which means the body only needs a very small amount of it to be healthy.

Silica is found most predominantly in the connective tissues - skin, blood, cartilage, bone, teeth, tendons and hair. Silica is really beneficial for the health of blood vessel walls (the aorta is has high concentrations of silica).

Silica is used to keep bones, cartilage, tendons and artery walls healthy. It is also required by the nails, hair and skin to stay in good condition and is useful in counteracting the effects of excessive aluminium. Silica is involved in the formation of bone and collagen.
This excerpt is from https://www.vitalhealthzone.com/nutri...ls/silica.html

As a note, I use a dietary supplement concentrate called "Cell Food" - a liquid that you add to water or juice. It is a formula that contains dissolved oxygen, 78 ionic minerals - including silica - 34 enzymes, 17 amino acids and electrolytes. I like this because I am getting essential micronutrients in one balanced supplement.

For more info: https://www.cellfood.com/

Definition of electrolyte - a normal substance in your body that conducts electricity. Electrolytes include calcium, chloride, phosphate, and potassium.

The nervous system works by conducting electricity for example.

Cheers,
BB

Default D-Earth

My D-Earth came Saturday, so I took my first TBSP of it yesterday in a 6oz container of yogurt, stirring in 1 teaspoon at a time. I may try a teaspoon in water today to see how well it mixes. I'm thinking though, that drinking lots more water while using D-Earth might be a good idea, to keep stuff moving through the intestines better? I don't need any more clogging up than I already have. I didn't read anything about more liquid intake in any of the info on D-Earth that i read, did you all?
I may try dusting a bit of it on the floor along my entry door; I keep getting those little rolly-polly bugs coming in there. I guess it's from all the moisture we've had from so much rain lately. I've never had problems with them before.

Earlybird, it does not mix with water. I usually put about a 1/4 cup of water in a cup and 2 tablespoon of DE, stir, and drink quickly.

If you just want the silica, put a tablespoon in a pitcher of water and let it sit for a while. Remains murky. Then when you pour a glass, refill the pitcher each time. It is inorganic; so no worry about spoiling. The settled contents will stir up when adding water. One tablespoon should last a week or more. If you do this with a gallon of water, it should last a year. Silica will be better used by the body by letting it sit in the water for a while.

I do the pitcher method. First thing in the morning, I take 2 tablespoons of the DE. Then, for the rest of the day, I drink the water from the pitcher - about 5 glasses.

I have found that the DE does indeed act like insoluble fiber. I have much better BMs.
