Default Radioactive Fallout is heading for the USA

Don't wait for some governement agency to tell you.

The nuclear reactors in Japan are melting down. The pacific air stream currents will start bringing us radioactive fallout to the USA very soon, in the next day or two.

Start taking potassium iodide tablets that can be found in pharmacies or healthfood stores or lugols iodine.

for the lugols 5% take 10 drops a day.

I was just talking about that with my husband yesterday. Is Potassium Iodide the same thing as iodine? If I bought the tablets at the vitamin store, what would be a safe dosage, and are there any bad side effects? Thanks.

In the event of a nuke accident, they worry about radioactive iodine. If you take potassium iodide you basically saturate your thyroid with iodine and it minimizes uptake of the radioactive iodide. radioactive iodine has a short half life though ( a few days) and any that escapes the japanese reactor will essentially be non existant in a month.

If you want to take a couple 10-20 mgs right now to saturate that would be fine and maybe once a week until this blows over. You can also take seaweed or eat sushi with seaweed (tuna rolls seaweed salads etc). The iodine iodide thing is odd, since in nature iodine is always found complexed or as the iodide, never as elemental iodine (it is too reactive).

You certainly want to be taking potassium iodide, you can purchase it at pharmacies or it is found in Lugols iodine

here is info on radioactive iodine and its half life.. The thing is, these reactors may be putting out radio activity for some time. We just don't know yet how well they can manage things

The Lugol's solution I have is 2% Iodine & 4% Potassium iodide. Should I take the 10 drops? And for my 4 year old how much would be good for her? I also have Iodoral which contains 50 mg. of combined Iodide and Iodine.

The radiation will permeate the air so it seems all food will be contaminated as well....for who knows how long. Any ideas to eating "safe" foods. Maybe it's time to stock up on things like nuts, seeds and beans, meats, oils, etc. as well as getting some seeds for sprouting too. All currently growing crops would be contaminated. Am I being paranoid?

I remember reading that miso soup kept a hospital staff healthy during Hiroshima radiation after effects.

Reports that I have heard state that if there is a massive leak the radiation will most likely drift over some sparcely populated areas of Russia.
But that is just their best guesstimate at the moment.

I live in California and the the fallout is to reach the west coast by Friday.

I received an email from a friend today that said:
Quote:

I've highlighted some of the pertinent info below. For all info go here: https://www.healthfreedomusa.org/?p=8838
I've tried to make this a valuable resource for you to print and reference if and when it's needed. And to use as a shopping list.
***A USA map of radiation detectors updated every 3 minutes: https://www.radiationnetwork.com/
Acute Radiation Sickness Symptons
Nausea and vomiting
Diarrhea
Skin burns (skin reddening)
Weakness
Lethargy and fatigue
Loss of appetite (anorexia)
Fainting
Dehydration
Inflammation of tissues (swelling, redness or tenderness)Hemorrhages under the skin
Bleeding from your nose, gums or mouth
Anemia (low red blood cell count)
Hair loss (usually from just the scalp)
Decrease in platelets

Radiation Detoxification
Potassium iodide KI or KIO3, Lugols solution works. I ordered some Iodoral online. Iodine has low toxicity: most people are iodine deficient so high doses are advised. Just a couple (2 to 4) per day sipped in juice. Foods that may prevent the body from using iodine are: turnip, cabbage, mustard greens, cassava root, soybeans, peanuts, pine nuts and millet. These foods are called goitrogens and excessive consumption can cause goiters so if you are using them temporarily, eat them raw. [Iodine is sold as a dietary supplement, but if sold to protect the thyroid from radioactive iodine emitted by a reactor accident might be considered a "prescription drug" so remember, you are obtaining it to supplement your diet... -Miso soup made BEFORE March 11, 2011 traditionally used to detox from electromagnetic overdoses.
-Sulfur containing, thiol rich compounds like MSM and foods like asparagus.
-Alkalinizing diet and agents (sodium bicarbonate away from food, lemon juice in water).
-Large amounts of the freshest, purest water you can get; magnetize your water before drinking or bathing!
- Intravenous EDTA chelation is said to remove radioactive heavy metals. If the contamination is ongoing, the chelationn needs to continue
-Glutamine may help rebuild the gut if the GI tract is damaged
If the blood system is impacted, clean bee pollen and mushroom extracts may be useful to rebuild the immune system; Shark alkyglycerols and Panexx ginseng are known to support platelet formation.
- Cancer may strike about 4.5% of people exposed to radiation in the 1-Gy range, and one-quarter of those individuals will likely contract leukemia. Data from Hiroshima residents showed an increased frequency of lymphocyte chromosomal mutations after the blast and workers involved in the Chernobyl cleanup showed a 20% increase in mutation frequency.
-Physical safety and protection during a radiation emergency:
-Close all doors and windows and fireplace dampers (exposed to outside air)
-Turn off all fans, air conditioners and heating units that bring in air from the outside (since it may be contaminated)
-Bring the family and pets inside
-Move to an inner room or basement because it affords much higher radiation shielding
If you are advised to evacuate, follow the directions provided and leave the area as quickly as possible; it may not be possible to self-shield at home, but if that is possible, that may be your safest option. If you have to leave, take along a flashlight, portable radio, batteries, first-aid kit, supply of sealed food and water, can opener, medicine, and sufficient cash and credit cards
-If you do not have Potassium Iodide tablets or supplement-grade iodine, use tincture of Iodine by painting it on your skin: paint 8 ml of a 2 percent tincture of Iodine on the abdomen or forearm approximately 2 hours prior to I-131 contamination. That would be now. Do it daily until further notice. You will probably notice a general increase in your general health and well-being, as many people are chronically Iodine deficient; but do not over do it!. Do not drink or swallow other forms of iodine because they are poisonous. Do not drink Betadine or iodine water purification tablets!
- Cobalt 60 is believed to be drawn out of the body with an Epsom Salts bath.
Instructions: Dissolve 1 pound of sea salt or rock salt and 1 pound of baking soda in a hot bath as hot as can be tolerated and soak into the water until the bath becomes cool. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes. Afterward, do not shower or rinse the salt off your body for 4-8 hours.
-A Chlorox Bleach bath is believed to remove heavy metals (a serious problem in nuclear reactor accidents) and chemical contaminants.
Chlorox Bath Instructions: Just add 1 cup of regular Clorox bleach to a tub of hot water as hot as can be tolerated and once again soak in it until the water becomes cool or body temperature. Dont wash off for at least 4 hours and make sure youre using sufficient water. Use a lot of water and do not increase the amount of bleach.
-During these baths, it is advisable to sip 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) in warm water. With radioactive fallout, Parcells recommended a stronger mixture of drinking an 8-ounce glass of water containing -teaspoon natural sea salt (Chico-san brand) and -teaspoon baking soda. According to the severity, this was to be drunk every 2-3 hours and each glass was to be taken with 3 tablets of calcium lactate, which is a very easy to absorb form of calcium. If an individual seemed to be experiencing symptoms in the head, sinuses, chest, glands, neck, throat, they were to add -teaspoon of cream of tartar to the mixture. Once again, dont shower for at least 4 hours after the bath.
*Sugar and sweets suppress the immune system and MUST BE AVOIDED at all costs.
-Spirullina also contains high proportions of metallo-thionine compounds which combine with radioactive metals so they can be eliminated, another protective effect of the super algae.
-Chitosan, made from crab shells, will also eliminate heavy metals and particles from the intestinal tract. I've used Chitosan...it's an effective product.
-Cesium 137 is a serious problem and is currently being emitted by the radiation contamination in Japan. Foods high in Calcium and Potassium are very helpful in replacing it and helping it to be eliminated from the body
*Vitamin D is depleted by Strontium 90 so extra Vitamin D3 is a very good idea. Lots of Vitamin D3 at least 5,000 IU per day is generally a good idea for immune system health. Iodine, Zinc, Calcium and Sulfur are important supplements as well to prevent their radioactive counterparts from becoming part of your biology. I strongly recommend a high potency mineral supplement and MSM (the sulfur compound, not the ClDO2 liquid) on a daily basis except when you are having a chelation treatment that day. Other minerals which are both protective and important on their own for healthy functioning includes selenium, vanadium and boron.
*Nutrients should be taken in high potency supplements as well including lycopene, beta carotene (mentioned above) and, of course, the grand daddy of all the free radical quenchers, high doses of Vitamin C. Vitamin C with BioFlavinoids like Rutin are essential, as are glutathione, NAC, and alpha lipoic acid. Whey and soy protein powder, which contain high amounts of cysteine, are also often given to cancer patients (one tablespoon daily) because of their high cysteine content which allows the body to make more glutathione.

You guys are overereacting. The amount of radiation that will hit here will be miniscule. And the radioactive iodine dies out very quickly. What you need to worry about is the radioactive strontium. It gets in the ground and is absorbed by plants and when in gets in you, your body thinks it is calcium and it gets stored in your bones.

I ordered some potassium iodine today, wont get here for like a week though.. but its the kind the goverment hands out..

But personally im not gonna take it unless I haer on the news the reactor is melting down.. I dont know enough about it to feel comfortable taking it.. But im thinking that, if it melts down I might leave california and head east. From what I read it could be very bad though.. apparently theres some special type of radioactive material in there, thats 2 million times stronger then uranium.. and has a half life of 24,000 years..

My mom was in england during chernobyl and apparently a radiation cloud came over the whole country at one time..

This could turn out to be the worst meltdown in history.. but im hoping things can be controlled.. not gonna go there yet.. but it certainly doesnt seem like they were prepared for this at all.. Spraying water on it? umm.. just seems like a desperate move to me when your talking about a nuclear reactor.. mm 4 nuclear reactors.. Its easy to point fingers now but, this is pretty ridiculous that they didnt plan for this sort of thing? Apparently it survived the earthquake but not the tsunami.. well, ITS ON THE BEACH!! in Japan which is notorious for tsunamis and earthquakes and has actually suffered from devastating tsunamis in the past 10 years. Blows my mind.

I agree. I'm not overreacting, but I did go to the vitamin store to buy some potassium iodide tabs, they were $8.99 a bottle on the shelf tag, but of course they were all sold out. Whenever they get some in, it'll probably be $80.99 a bottle. Since I had no iodine at all in the house, I picked up a small bottle of liquid iodine/iodide, which will, if anything, take care of any future incidents.

From what I heard on the news, adults don't really have to worry about it, only children and pregnant women. The other stuff like cesium is more scary to me.

I will not get detailed, but the liquid iodine you get at the pharmacy is actually a mixture of iodine and potassium iodide. Put one or two drops into a 1 qt bottle of water and sip a little each day for a week.

Thanks saved, good to know! The stuff I did buy is a 2oz bottle of "Life-flo" Liquid Iodine Plus. It says 3 drops equals 150mcg. (100%) iodine as iodine, potassium iodide.

My bottle of regular iodine probably has just a few drops of half-dried liquid left...was doing the iodine deficiency tests on my skin awhile back, LOL!

Vitamin C will also help to neutralize free radical damage caused by radiation, so I would suggest several grams per day in divided doses.

Mommysunshine, most likely you have the 2% Lugol's. 2 (horizontal) drops of the solution equal about 6.5 mg solution. The 5% Lugol's equals 12.5 mg. Double and a half the drops of the 2% which should take you to about 25 drops. Please make sure you hold your dropper in the horizontal (sideways ☺) position to get a full drop. 3 years to 18 years: give half the adult dose.
Yes, I read, too, that (unheated) Miso soup helps.

Amazing how one mineral can trick parts of the body into "thinking" it is one that the body part needs. Take the thyroid for example. It needs to be saturated with iodine to reject the radioactive iodine. But it is already saturated with bromine that the thyroid thinks is iodine through trickery. Bromine is a sister halogen with iodine. It replaced iodine in baking when bakers became iodine phobic for several decades. There is only one bread maker that declares on their package that the bread has no bromates - Nature's Own. Now we have to displace bromine from the thyroid. Over saturation is about the only method to displace bromine with iodine.
