I just read an article that there\'s no conclusive evidence that flax seed oil works, but there is for fish oil. Hopefully she will start to take it. \r\n \r\n@ Ted_Hutchinson \r\nThanks for the link, I\'m reading it right now \r\n \r\n@ Researcher1 \r\nI\'ll have her get it checked \r\n \r\n@ Cookie \r\nI know what she eats for breakfast and for dinner, but she generally eats out for lunch. She is a picky eater, which might also hurt her health, because a lot of things that I read are good for cholestrol like celery she won\'t eat. I know of more things she dislikes than she likes as she is the most picky eater I\'ve ever met. If we walk into a sandwich shop and they won\'t toast the bread she doesn\'t want it for starters. I can tell you she likes milk and a lot of times for dinner she has cereal and she likes chicken. \r\n \r\nI\'ve been trying to do a lot of research, mostly googling and it appears I do almost everything already that is supposed to lower your cholestrol \r\n \r\n1) vitamin C (I get 2,000mg a day from supplements and drink at least 2 cups of green tea a day as of recently) \r\n2) psyllium husks (I put this in my protein shakes every morning) \r\n3) almonds (I eat a small handful an hour or two before lunch and another handful 2 hours after lunch everyday) \r\n4) Eat steel-cut oatmeal on the weekend (takes too long to make during the week) \r\n \r\nShe doesn\'t take the vitamin C like I do, because she seems to have a problem remembering to take pills (she\'s 30 year old). She doesn\'t like the taste of my protein shakes in the morning, so she\'s not getting the psylium husks either. She told me she wants to start taking almonds before and after lunch each day. \r\n \r\nThe sad part is that I give my dog fish oil everyday and yet neither of us take fish oil ourselves.\r\n | \r\n

wife cholesterol was high
Why wife just did a physical and they told her that her cholesterol (Tryglicerides) was really high. I don't remember the numbers right now, but trying to figure out why.
She isn't over weight, exercises 3-4 times a week. She used to drink coffee, but within the last few weeks has switched to tea instead. She doesn't eat fast food or fried food really. The only thing is that she eats whole eggs every morning. She eats scrambled eggs every morning with a little bit of cheese and ham mixed in with it. My first thoughts were that the whole eggs are the issue, but after googling for awhile it appears there's mixed things on eggs? So we're trying to figure out what could be causing it and what we should do doing? The doctor recommended fish oil, which i believe she might start taking. I have a protein shake during the weekdays, in which I add flax seed oi, so I'm wondering if that would help her during the weekday. I've been eating steel cut oatmeal on the weekends. any advice is appreciated |
