IVP ultrasound xray?
I'm no fan of xrays in the first place but after suffering from reccurant urine infections and blood in urine for past few years the doc wants me to go in for an IVP ultrasound xray but I'm not sure I'll go through with it. Apart from xrays being involved, it also involves having a barium or iodene solution injected into the bloodstream so it shows up in the xray. Don't like the thought of this. What are peoples thoughts on this? Safe in the long run? I've already had two flexible fluoscopys (camera up penis) and they didn't pick up any problems at all so I refused when they wanted to perform a third. I sometimes can go a year or two of suffering no infections then could have 2 or 3 in a year. Symptoms are agonizing burning sensations when passing water, disscharge etc. My girlfriend suffers from thrush from time to time also so wonder if this could be contributing? Any help appreciated. Cheers.
