\nI need some help. I am a 27 year old male. I weight 175lbs. and am 5\'11. Therefore, I am pretty lean, but not where I was one year ago.

\nAbout two years ago, I started seeing a naturopathic doctor (N.D.). I had hot flashes (and still do about once every day), along with depression/anxiety, and low energy/vitality. She sent me to a Endocrinologist. He ran blood tests on my testosterone levels, among other things. My Testosterone, Total was 405. This was okay because the reference range was 250-1100. However, the % free testosterone level was 1.30 and the reference level was 1.5-2.2.

\nSo, my naturopathic doctor put me on DHEA. In particular, it was this one: https://www.amazon.com/Ortho-Molecula.../dp/B001A5TP2I She had me take 2 5mg tablets in the morning, dissolved under the tongue.

\nShe also put me on some supplements for anxiety/depression from the this company: https://www.neuroscienceinc.com/index.php?p=home

\nThe results were just okay for my depression/anxiety. My hot flashes decreased just a bit. However, my activity level became elevated a great deal. I was a workout machine and I felt like superman. My body became leaner and I lost about 15-20lbs (with a better diet). Now, I am still eating the way I did when I lost the weight, but with no supplements. I gained about 10lbs back over a period of four months without taking any supplements.

\nI would like to start taking the DHEA again for testosterone availability so that I have the strength to work out and maintain lean muscle instead of fat. Also, my libido is pretty low lately, for no reason at all. I have been attending therapy, so the depression and anxiety are not bad anymore. My question is: What are some natural ways I can increase free testosterone without taking DHEA? I am trying to stay away from BPA, am lifting weights and doing cardio, and eating great. I will take DHEA if I have to, but I worry that it may make my endocrine systems lazy. \\

\nCould 10mg of DHEA been too much for you? Could you try 5mg? Even at my age of 58 I only take 5mg with good results.

\nIf you normally run low DHEA levels supplementing with that is really the best way to go.

\nDid they ever tell you why you were having hot flashes? like exactly what was going on hormonally?

NO, they never told me why the hot flashes were occurring. I think they guessed it was the free testosterone. BPA is Bisphenol A.\r\n
