Jeremy: I had to smile at your comment about Chlorine Dioxide in Canada...
Canada is the largest producer of Sodium Chlorite in North America and the 2nd
largest in the world. Most of the chlorite salt used to produce the 'MMS' you buy
in the U.S. comes from either Canada or China. The U.S. produces less than half
of its Soduim Chlorite requirements; many US producers are also scaling back their
production (EKA and others) due to falling demand from the newsprint industry.
Keep in mind that this is a very plentiful and widely used chemical; the prospect of
it being banned is next to impossible. Problems arise when you call it 'MMS' rather
than what it is. Interestingly, there are still many people who aren't aware that they
can simply go to the nearest sporting goods store if they'd like to try MMS before
purchasing from questionable sources.
The bulk mineral that the salt is made from sells for less than $80 per ton. (yes, TON)
It's largely a question of access at the consumer level because it's considered an
industrial chemical for bleaching and water purification.
What that means is that if everyone was as humanitarian as they claim to be about
sodium chlorite, it would sell for even less than what most people are paying now.
Why? Because all the Sodium Chlorite being sold by so many resellers comes from only a few bulk sources. Many resellers don't even know where the original
chlorite salt used to make their 'product' comes from. Sure, they sourced what THEY
are selling from someone in the US, but often the chlorate that chlorite is derived from comes from China. Just like your furniture that's 'made in USA' is from Canadian wood. Got it?
Good thing us Canadians are so friendly and good natured... eh?
