Default Rid Pests From Your Garden

I've been seeing so many regular grocery stores selling food plants. Maybe I never paid attention in the past, but I don't remember seeing this.

I'm about to build a small raised garden bed. Right now I have my plants in pots. I want to get ready for pests and learn how to naturally deal with them. Right now there is an occasional fly on my basil leaves. How can you naturally get rid of pests in your garden?

I've heard of getting ladybugs.

Some people use diatomacious earth, here's a link from an older thread.

Also planting Marigolds help will keeping the crawling bugs away. Earwigs, or what we call 'clawbugs', can be controlled by rolling up sections of moist newspaper in the evenings, they are attracted to the dampness. Of course, ladybugs are great!
