I totally agree with EarlyBird, colorants are not 100% safe. Anyway, I think that the style of the hair it's more important than the color, so you better go to a stylist for a new style than for coloring. Keep that in mind!
I have been wondering about how safe coloring my hair is. I stands to reason it's probably harmful. I've checked into henna, with indigo. Has anyone tried that? Does it work? And how long does it stay before having to color again?
Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Hi ljea, welcome! There's some less harmful products out there in the health stores to use for hair coloring. I've used Naturtint with good success to cover grey.
I personally don't care for henna, because with the old coloring already in my hair, it turned it a greenish tone. I would think the henna would last a couple of months before needing to be freshened. Of course if you doing grey roots, they usually begin to show from hair growth in one month.
