I think the whole 'detox' thing is a bit of a joke. If you think about it, the whole detox thing is just like the prescription drug thing.

If your body is getting the nutrition it needs, why would one add some temporary adjunct that is ingested for a limited time? If this 'detox' substance is beneficial for your body, wouldn't you want to consume some every day?
