Hello a family member has recently had a heart attack. He now needs a bypass on all three main arteries as they are occluded/obstructed. I want to help him clear atherosclerosis before Ischaemia develops.
Please can someone recommend me a supplementational regimen? iHerb is my friend! Thanks

Sytrinol (a form of vitamin E) 150 mg 2X a day
Fish Oil (preferably a good form like nordic naturals) 2X a day (be careful, it thins the blood slightly and if he is on coumadin (warfarin) he will have take one capsule every other day at most.
Profibe (a fiber supplement. The directions say 3 scoops a day, but one may work)
A male multiple and (such as centrum or one a day for men) and additional B-6 (5 mg a day), folic acid (400mcg a day) and B-12 500 mcg once a week.
Oatmeal for breakfast 4-5 times week.
If possible, daily long fast walks (4-5 times a week).
The most important thing to do for a stroke is to have hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. The hospital wont do it for stroke so you have to find an independed doctor with the equipment. The pressurized oxygen will help regenerate brain tissue. Aside from that high dosages of B vitamins, B12 injections
She must start physical therapy right away and she must be motivated. Best results are with early PT intervention.. and PT should be incorporated to almost ALL her waking time.
If the stroke is caused by a clot take Nattokinase. If caused from a bleed do not take nattokinase but proceed onto a regimen that strenghtens the vascular integrity of the vessel walls. Most bleed strokes are related to using pharmaceutical blood thinners so adjustments are required there.
If she does not have atrial fib I would avoid taking coumadin/warfarin/plavix as these are very dangerous drugs.
If he has been on coumadin or other blood thinners or has a blood disorder it may likely be a bleed.
From what you have said it is likely a clot.. his doctor will know.
Really, some of the most powerful stuff is vitamin C and niacin (the type that causes flush) and serrapeptase and nattokinase. Lipsomal vitamin c is best... otherwise at least 10 grams a day.. can be divided into 2 or 3 doses.

I live 250 miles from my doctor and that makes it kind of hard to involve him very fast.
As a matter of fact I had a stroke a year ago in June. I collapsed on the bedroom floor at 1:30 a.m. and within a minute my wife gave me 4 nattokinase. By telephone my doctor said we had done alright and to get some whey protein and pour the amino acids right in.
We did not go to the hospital, and he said the hospital would have probably sent me home to recoup and set me a bill for about $30,000. I was in bed for over a month, not even able to turn over by myself.
Well it's been a year and after learning to walk all over again I finally went for a walk to see how far I could go, 200 yards, that's not very far is it.
200 yards is wonderful... and it appears that you have your mind, the ability to type and read.
Physical therapy, it has proven time and again is one of the best treatments.
So many after a stroke go nowhere.... 200 yards can turn into 400 if you work on it.
Add some basic yoga exercises.
I hope you are continuing on nattokinase WyoJim, because most people who have strokes are at high risk to have another. The link in post #6 details what can be done.
Hyperbaric oxygen treatments early on can reverse some of the brain damage, if you can get to a place that does it.
Thanks Arrowind09 for the response. Me, my wife and 55 year old son are all on Nattokinase. I take 2 in the morning and 2 at bed time and 1 at about 3 a.m. when I get up to satisfy my prostate. I was on nattokinase when I had my stroke, but I think I might have forgot my bedtime dose.
I might try the red yeast rice because my wife's cholestoral is 300 even though her trygliserides are under a hundred.
