\r\n \r\n I\'m not sure that this has been concluclusively proved though I do accept that fluoride is a neurotoxin and vulnerable people could be adversely affected by excess. Most of our fluoride comes from drinking tea and I\'m quite sure that the health benefits of tea drinking overwhelm the adverse effects. I doubt fluoridation of water is helpful there are much better ways we could protect our childrens teeth and I\'m glad most of the water in the UK is not fluoridated.

\nI think raising your natural anti inflammatory status is probably the best intervention you can make. Vitamin D3, 5000iu/daily, magnesium chelate (albion mineral patent) 400mg, Omega 3 above 1g of EPA + DHA daily. It\'s worth also making sure you get to bed early, get into the bright light during the day and have a dark bedroom ,Melatonin is one of the best antioxidants and ensuring your maximise natural secretion is essential. If you live in an area of selenium deficiency (ie UK) then taking a selenium is a good idea.

\nI think keeping a good gut flora is probably a good idea so making full fat yoghurt at home is worth the trouble and cheaper/better than bought. Astaxanthin / Carnosine are other antioxidants worth considering

\r\nI think you should be able to find out the extent of fluoridation in your own water supply and if it comes to using bottled water or buying a filter then I\'m afraid that\'s it.
\r\nIt\'s a shame but I think it\'s better you avoid fluoride if possible and breast feed for as long as possible.
\r\nI\'ve been using an XYLITOL toothpaste as an alternative to UK toothpastes that all seem to contain fluoride. Fortunately only 10% of UK water is fluoridated but we are great tea drinkers so generally get more from the tea than the water.\r\n

It\'s good to know that people are becoming aware of this problem which is caused by the (well-intended) irresponsible efforts of our governments starting in the 60s and 70s. Living in the States as my husband and I do, even in our alternative community of caring individuals, there are many environmental stressors that are out of our control and short of living in a bubble (Which has been discussed!) there is not much we can do about it.

\nIn our community we filter all our water even though it comes from a mountain stream - there is a power plant about 20 miles up river and who knows what contaminants are being put out into the water. We grow most of our own food and raise our own livestock (just cows for milk, and chickens for eggs, and some goats to keep them company! They are free range and well cared for!) so we know what we\'re eating and where it comes from. But the air is everywhere! Not much you can do about that! We are heavy tea drinkers. I had never heard that tea has more fluorine in it than regular water. I love tea and thought it was safer than drinking water that had not been boiled, even if it is filtered and from a natural source. That\'s something to think about.

\nDo you think that its possible that the increase in fluorinization in the states is part of a more sinister government program? I mean after a couple decades the information was out there that this was a bad idea and the problems it caused so why keep doing it if your goal is to protect your population? Is it possible that the government is maybe trying to &quot;dumb down&quot; the population and keep us under control. It\'s well known that the military-industrial complex has been using performance-enhancers and selective breeding to create better stronger soldiers. Will there be a day when \'ordinary people\' are no longer able to compete and are put into subjugation? It\'s scary stuff. What do you think?\r\n

It could be that it is both reducing our IQ and maybe also as a catalyst or carrier? Like, it could activate something lying dormant inside us or maybe carry nanomachines or some sort of tracking tracer. Like they could know where you\'ve been or if you\'ve attended subversive meetings based on your fluoride levels - tracing it back to public water supply sources or deep-cover healthcare professionals.
