First, I created a directory on the local C: drive which is called HeIs. This is short for Health Issues. Inside this directory, additional sub-directories were created such as AntiAging, Butter, CoQ10, etc. Upon finding an interesting web page, click on File on the menu bar and select Save As. This displays a Save Web Page dialog box. In the Save In: field navigate to the appropriate sub-directory. In the File name: field, enter a file name to change the displayed name. In the Save as type: field, select Web Page, complete (*.htm;*.html). Finally, click on the Save button or press the Enter key. This saves a copy of the web page on the local C: drive. If a new sub-directory needs to be created, this can be done in the Save Web Page dialog. Navigate to the HeIs directory and right click in the list of folders and select New from the first menu and Folder on the second menu. Enter the desired name for the New Folder, open it and save the web page. \r\n \r\nTo perform a search, in Windows explorer, right-clicking on the directory HeIs will bring up a menu. Select Search from this menu which should display a Search Results dialog. In the A word or phrase in the file: field, enter a word or phrase which is known to be in a saved web page. For example, entering grape seed extract (without the quotes) will bring up a listing of all the saved web pages which contain this phrase. There should be two listings for each web page. One should be the document and the other a folder that holds graphics. Double clicking on the document should open the saved copy of the web page. \r\n \r\nIn my mind, this is much more efficient than trying to perform another web search for a page that I know Ive seen before. Of course, this is not as good as having links listed on the forum. I think having a Links topic is a great idea. Just be sure to include a good discription of the links so that a search can be made.\r\n | \r\n

Clicking on it would reveal the standard health topics, Nutrition, Dentistry, Vision, etc. Clicking on one of them would then reveal all the links that are related to that topic. \r\n \r\nI am thinking that these links should be limited to articles, research papers, test results, etc. rather then how my aunt Hildegard cured her curved spine by bungee cord jumping. While aunt Hildegards cure might be interesting it would be better if it stayed in the general discussion category. On the other hand articles linked to from here need not necessarily carry the AMA, FDA etc. seal of approval. \r\n \r\nWhat would be helpful is if each link had a brief sentence or two to describe its contents. Thus if I were to go to a topic on hangnails and one of the links description tells of their removal with the use of a double edged axe, I can quickly determine if I want more information. \r\n \r\nThe main problem is how do we determine what links to include? If Xania, Arrowwind were to have the oversight to make this determination I am sure that they would quickly become overwhelmed by having to reading all of the links. \r\nOn the other hand if everyone is allowed to insert links there is the possibility that many might not have any real value and the good stuff would get lost in the clutter. Sooo what if there was some way that those who read a new link could vote on whether it should be saved, if it gets enough votes it is then copied to the link category. Can Kevin tell us if this possible, is there a simple way of doing this, or something else along that line?\r\n | \r\n
