Default Constipation related - please help

I'm sorry if I word this wrong and don't sound so polite. I am just desperately
looking for help or anyone who has been in my shoes.

I am horribly constipated. I am going daily or every other day, but I dread each time. Each time it's just a few little balls that are SUPER hard to get out. Each time, there is a great amount of blood and mucus associated with it. The whole TP piece is all red and nothing else.
It's getting worse and more painful. Anyone?

What has your doctor had to say about this? How long has this condition been going on? What dietary changes, commercial products, or herbs have you tried to soften your stools?

If being constipated is your only health issue, and I doubt that it is, then take magnesium from citrate and vitamin C.

Taking small amounts won't do anything, you have to take enough to be of some benefit. I would suggest 600 mg of magnesium and at least 1000 mg of vitamin C three times per day, and go up from there if necessary.

What is your vitamin D level? Are you getting all 90 essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids?

Avoid gluten and dairy, especially cheese, and eat a diet of mostly raw veggies and fruit, preferablly organic, and seek out a good ND.

I am currently on a gluten free diet and and preservative free diet. I do consume some dairy and cane sugar products though. I also have been taking mag citrate but that either makes me very cramp and nautious, or doesn't work enough. I haven't tried the C? I've been looking for a good ND for a while.

I think lack of proper fats in the diet can cause constipation. Stress can also be a factor. Blackberry products can bind a person. Fresh blackberries will not have this effect. Some cough syrups and other drugs cause constipation. How long has this condition been going on? Have you always had this problem?

You really need to soften your stools. All the bleeding and mucous is most likely from hard stools.

What do you eat daily?

This article will make recommendations that can work.
https://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art11457.asp

If you go to your local health food store you will be able to find a combination herbal product that includes Casagaria and senna. This should get you throught the intial hump of your problem. This type of product is kind of harsh and IS NOT FOR LONG TERM USE. You must correct the bowel function by feeding your body correctly and by providing effective and sufficient amounts of probiotics and restoring equilibrium in the gut. Homozone is certianly a product well worth consideration as it will provide a general overall healing to the gut and create an environment within that will assist good microbes to colonize. You will have to take a probiotic with it.

Of course Aloe Vera is another option. Pick a course of action and stick with it for at least two weeks before making a change if it does not work. Sometimes trials of different things are required. I had this problem when I was quite young and Nux Vomica worked for me and the problem never returned. I talk about that in the above article.

Of course if the bleeding is excessive, it may be wise to get checked out by a doctor. Bright red blood is often present when people with hemorrhoids, either internal or external or both are present.

A powdered psyllium husk fiber product like Metamucil is very effective for softening the stool. Walmart sells their own brand which is just as good or better for less money. Start taking this twice a day with plenty of water, because it can clump up in your intestines if you don't. Give it a couple of days to see results. After things are back to normal, you can take it only once per day, preferably in the evening.

Right now, you have to drink more water throughout the day, and cut out anything that may harden the stool or cause constipation like cheese or Tums antacid pills. Another good thing for you to start is drinking a full glass of tepid/warm water first thing in the morning after you wake up, don't sip, just gulp it down. If you get desperate, there's over the counter pills like Colace, that will soften the stool...but use the psyllium husk first, you won't be disappointed.

Most importantly, don't strain. That just makes the hemorrhoid situation worsen, thus additional bleeding. Good luck...do it now.

PS: is you have a vitamin store neat you, get a bottle of flax oil and take a spoonful a couple of times a day, it won't hurt.

Kind2Creatures's post reminded me to speak about hydration. Dehydration, lack of sufficient water in the system, causes constipation.

Also, if you choose Homozon plan for a 3 to 4 month protocol. It will alleviate constipation much sooner but over time you will receive a fuller systemic healing from it.. Some people with serious disease use it up to a year or more. This product really is amazing.. and from your other posts it is clear that you have multiple issues going on.

Please be aware that Psyllum husk seed products often lead to worse constipation for some people as well as gas and cramping. The bulk is more than they can endure. I have seen this frequently in clinical work.
Benefiber may be better choice if you want to go mainstream products... but it will not correct the underlying issues.

I agree with Arrow that Cascara Sagrada will work to help you have a bowel movement, but it can cause cramping and should not be used long term at all. Just one 450mg capsule in the evening with plenty of water should be effective. The brand I have on hand for emergencies is Solaray.

However, this herb will not soften the stool, which it sounds like is your main problem right now. Remember, you have to eat reasonable sized meals. Some people eat hardly anything all day, but expect a large, healthy bowel movement, it doesn't work that way.

But it can move stool out. Most of the water is extracted from the stool in the transverse colon. If he is blocked up there the stool can get very hard and harder as it tries to move down. Once things get moving then the stool can become soft again because it is not held up there... so the stool preceding this blockage may not be hard at all... so this is why these herbal products can be effective. It all depends on what is causing the constipaiton.. which of course, we have no clue.. we can only guess and try different things.

I wouldn't worry too much about the bleeding at this point. It will probably go away after the constipaiton is relieved and it likely has caused the development of some hemorrhoids. If it does not go away after the constipation is gone in a couple of days then see a doctor. Hemorrhoids may take longer to go away and generally they will when the stress is alleviated

Fiber. That is so important. My favorite is one like Benefiber that disappears in water or liquid. Wal-Mart and CVS have their own and cheaper brand. Fiber is a long term solution. Probiotics is a long term solution too. Fiber will help keep the stool from being like clay. It will provide bulk, which is also important.

Short term solution is a stool softener for a few days. You can find them at any drug store or even Target and WalMart.

Magnesium pulls water into the intestines. That's why it is so good. But magnesium oxide will chemically burn the intestines, so get a magnesium citrate. Milk of magnesia is pretty good and fast. There is another that doctors recommend when going for hemorrhoid surgery. Magnesium citrate liquid. Comes in a bottle. You generally drink half the bottle at a time. It will cause bowel movement. Then for long term, you can take magnesium supplements.

I use a product called NaturalCalm which is pure magnesium. I was hooked on Milk of Mag earlier in life and don't ever want to look or smell that again. Constipation has been a long term issue but aggresively has gotten worse. I do have ulcerative colitis but do not take any meds.
